Hot ATF and trailer driving

I still ride around with trailers every now and then and I still have the problem that smoke comes out of the engine compartment and bubbles the cooling water. At the end of the week all Temp.-Geber are exchanged and also a few things done, but this should not change the actual problem.

In the meantime, I believe that the smoke comes from ATF, which drips on the exhaust pipes. And this always happens when the automatic is heavily loaded. When driving the trailer (in my case about 1.2t) it seems to be particularly problematic with the V8 since the laminar coupling is only loaded at a bit more than 80km/h (at least at 3.6l, Jg 90). Therefore most of the time during the journey the whole force is transferred over the ATF - with corresponding slip and thus heat formation. Which is what we're talking about.

In the old forum I read that there should have an overpressure valve for the ATF. The excess from the valve seems to drip onto the exhaust pipes. And with the conditions mentioned above, it seems that there's a lot to do. Besides, if it gets so hot, it's probably not healthy for the gearbox either. This problem was probably also recognized by AUDI as such, because in the 4.2l an active ATF cooling has apparently been installed.

Now the following questions arise:
- Is anyone aware that this cooling can be retrofitted with 3.6l? Or else a way to cool the ATF?
- Does anyone know by chance if you can just prevent the ATF from dripping on the exhaust pipes?

Greetings
