New in the forum

Hello, guys!
I'm new here in the forum and wanted to introduce myself briefly. I'm Hannes and I've been here for about a year. one month owner of a V8 3 ́6 with complete equipment (grey leather, memory seats etc.) and in a nice, maintenance-worthy condition.
The car has only one problem. No spark!
But since I discovered this great forum right away and used the search function correctly, it was soon clear to me: OT encoder, speed encoder, ECU or cable breakage (bit). So far so good. In order to save me unnecessary costs, I decided to "try" the next VAG base to read out the fault memory of my car. And now it comes: The friendly gentleman on the phone at Audi told me that this is not possible with such an old bucket(!) first (?) and he would not have a man free anyway (and that at the breakdown service !!!). It was only after several calls and begging that I was sent by a mechanic (who claimed to be anyway) with a fault-reading device (I had to explain to the guy at Audi how the device (1551) is called). He put the device on the car that I was preparing, said already after approx. 2 seconds that the device was defective and wanted to get out of the way. In my despair I asked him to show me in the engine room only about where the OT encoder is, the guy showed me the cable that leads to the right tap sensor (!!!!) and said goodbye. You can imagine that I cooked with rage.
Now it's the case that I'm original. Reperaturleitweiten got, much on the net browse and I will do everything myself in the future.
Tomorrow I'll install the new OT-gender (€153.-) and hope my V8 breathes like an "old bucket"
