Hello, everybody.
I've been an enthusiastic V8 driver for 5 years and I also read the forum here a lot. In the absence of time and know-how, I have had all the maintenance work carried out at VAG in Vienna and was actually always satisfied with the quality of the work. The V8 has thanked me so far and never let me down.
Today "Pickerlversuchung" (TÜV) was announced and it turned out that the steering gear is light leaking. Otherwise everything was fine (I also invested a lot in the cars over the last years)
Pickerl got the car anyway - the mechanic, however, meant the steering gear will be over sooner or later and have to be changed.
After what I have read here in the forum, the cost of a new steering transmission at VAG seems to be sensational. If someone happens to know a cheap option in the Vienna area, to a new steering gear (incl. Installation) to come ?
Greetings from Vienna
Christian
