It was supposed to be such a beautiful day: at 8 am get up, just want to go shopping, then to Frankfurt on the High End 2002. And I pour the empty box into Veltin's suitcase: I see a beautiful underbody protection trail below the rear right fender on the road. Nope. I knew this from the leaky tank at the Opel Kadett, but: My V8 had driven almost dry. Mysteries... Until I fixed that the cheap spare canister, which I had clamped right into the tool pit, had unfortunately almost completely run out - cracked at a seam. Somehow the gas just dripped out below and took underbody protection. not only that I cleaned the road with hyper cat litter and gasoline for an hour, no, the V8 smells like a tank. Mannnnooooo. Can this be true???
Do I have to check the underbody protection now? In any case, no more canisters will come in if it's not of armored steel...
Never again a reserve canister in the V8 !

also...ich hab auch ´n kanisterchen hinten drin...;-)
allerdings hatte ich das gleiche prob schon mal vor jahren bei ´nem vorgänger-audi...war glaub ich ´n 100er typ 44...seit diesen tagen hab ich mir ´n 'runden kanister besorgt der im reserverad liegt...das ding is so alt das es noch aus metall ist!
hält aba seit jahren zuverlässig sein volumen und sogar dem empfindlichen näschen meiner gattin is auch nix bisher aufgefallen...und wenn ma was auslaufen würde...ich glaube das kann nich auslaufen...oder???
