Hello, everybody.
Please don't hit me-- I know that the subject has been discussed before. I need your help to buy the right things. First of all, the problem: Every time I drive the V8 out of the garage and steer it in (direction doesn't matter), the steering wheel feels spongy, as if the direct contact to the road is missing. Sometimes I also have the impression that the car pushes over the front axle (i.e. does not want to follow the given steering movement). The steering damper is brand new (original part). My car now has 240 tkm down and as far as I can understand, nothing has been done about the chassis (damper, bearing, bushings not yet exchanged). It has a total gauge width of 30 mm on the VA, stands on 17" Boleros with ET40. When picking up and fully springing up, I have seen that the transverse handlebar bushings in the aggregate carrier (the rubber-metal bearing) already show cracks.
Now my question: Where to start to get rid of this spongy sense of direction? Crossbars, stabilizer bearings, dome bearings?
Thank you for your help in advance.
Best regards
Jörg L.
