V8 conversion project into a Golf 2 with manual transmission

Hello, your V8 lover, we have also come into possession of a V8 and since we already own a 3 axle golf, we thought we built the V8 into Him. Since it is intended to serve us as a fun car and possibly 1/4 mile racer at various meetings, our consideration is to replace the automatic transmission with a switch, the whole should then remain with front drive. The engine is installed in the longitudinal direction and the front car is extended.
Now I am looking for a usable gearbox, has an experience here or can gears tell me letters???
