Petrol pump with or without sieve ?

Hello, together, I bought a new petrol pump for my fat guy.
Part No according to ETOS 8A0 906 091 G
Have removed the "old" parts No. was so far identical to the ending instead of G the "old" had an A.
Pumps were different in length.
And the old pump had at the lower end where the fuel is sucked in a small sieve in the bore (see photo on the left new pump, on the right old pump).
The new pump has "no" sieve!!!
Inquired again at VAG:Part No. was changed from "A" to "G", but would have to fit despite the difference in length but with the sieve they can not explain either.
Should I now insert the sieve from the "old" pump into the bore of the "new"?
It would fit,the only thing strange to me is that in the "old" pump in the hole are three bridges, so that the sieve has a depth stop.
The "new" pump does not have this deep connection.
Hope I could explain it to you and you know what I mean.
Thank you for your help
Welcome
Daniel

Hi!

Daniel
