Hallihallo.
Must get rid of this now: I just went to the TCS (Touring Club Switzerland) and had a used car test on my A8 (4.2, Model 96 with now 96'000 km) because the warranty is about to expire.
Result: Except for a slightly porous drive cuff at the front right, absolutely everything is in very good condition. I have to say, I'm currently floating on cloud seven; I wouldn't have thought, with a soon seven-year-old car *joy*
Well, at the very beginning I had to have some warranty work done in a row, but for 10 months it's really quiet, just get in and drive...
Let's see if he can survive the next 100,000 km.

Wer seinen A8 auch so Benzin-sparend fährt, fordert ihn ja nie. Da ist es kein Wunder, das der Verschleiß und viele Defekte erheblich länger auf sich warten lassen. 
Ist zwar auch ein wenig ironisch gemeint, ich denke aber, daß hinter dieser Ironie auch eine Menge Wahrheit steckt...
