Brake light

For ten years now I have been driving my beloved V8 more or sometimes less easily, with (among others) a perfectly functioning check system. At the beginning appears "brake light", and after pressing the brake pedal this soothing "OK" appears (even though I know that there is a lot of it right now).
Suddenly it beeped yesterday while driving and it suddenly appeared "brainlight" and did not go out. Because I had never internalized the meaning of this simple word, my first reaction was that it was definitely something not i.o. with the check system, until I remembered this word to read correctly. And it's true: a brake light is defective.
Of course, this is all completely uninteresting and unnecessary to write, but I wondered why there are symbols for everything, just not for the brake light. Why isn't it just "battery" written when it's over, or "hydraulik"? Then I read in my manual, and there: actually a symbol for the brake light! But only when it's putt. In the beginning it should actually be written. Then there is a footnote where it is written in some (true. (not German-speaking) countries only gives the brake symbol, both in case of a breakdown and probably at the beginning.
So I don't have that symbol at all. How's that for you?

zweite Zeile, zweites [DE] u. drittes [UK] symbol.

http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2010/03/the-best-of-ttac-the-audi-5000-intended-unintended-acceleration-debacle/
