Remodeling the air conditioning unit, engine from 3.6 to 4.2

After driving a truck on the highway backwards in the thick in May, I decided to do it again.
I found a part carrier near me that is two years younger (my 91er 3,6/part carrier 93er 4,2).
Now the 93 has the newer climate control part. Is this simply remodelable, or does everything concerning the climate have to be rebuilt?
Can the engine "simple" from the 4.2 in the 3.6 over come?
I have to say that I have a gas plant in it, which should also be preserved. Is the 3.6-inch suction bridge fit on the 4.2-inch?
