Hello old companions, but here it has become quiet, I am also on the A8Friends Forum and have not been here for 2-3 years. My 95er ABZ has now become the 2001er AUW and like the predecessor the headrests do not work. Here's the problem:
After being encouraged by a YT Vid (How To A8D2 Headrest) I got to work and see: passenger side was clean in 30 minutes, works fine, everything works fine. So driver's side. There, however, the shaft and hose must have fallen out of the "gear", so where the worm gear (presumably) drives the headrest - see picture. So next thing I know, I'm gonna pick up the "crag" so that the thing fits back in. It's not a chance for collars. Fits in now but in there everything is hollow, space is full, Bowden train turns in nothing. You can also use the screwdriver. Ergo: There must be a part missing, e.g. a kind of bevel spindle with a mounting of the mini square. Downstairs, nothing. Must have been the previous owner or whoever sucked up.
What's Nu?
Has anyone ever expanded the "gear"? Can't touch any screws at the top to expand the part. I don't really want to get the part because of the leather horror, airbag and all the fugitive shit, but rather because of the junkyard/slaughter festival, plug in, tie in and fasten the bowden train, ready.
Does anyone have an idea or even a spare part? And above all, are the things from 95 to 2002 identical? I guess almost once, in Ebay, there is something of 95 that looks exactly the same..
Oh, yes, the picture doesn't work here.. It's been a long time...
