Hello, everybody.
So far, I thought the temperature sensor on the right cat measured the temperature there and let the control light light up with too hot right cat. In some threads this is described. The feeler is therefore not considered as important in the corresponding threads.
But now I have a thread
( https://forum.audiv8.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=69965&Searchpage=1&Main=9715&Words=abgas temperaturef%C3%BCHler&Search=true#Post69965 )
found in which is said, the temperature sensor acts even at too low exhaust gas temperature. Then the Lambda probe is electrically heated via a control unit, since they do not work properly at low exhaust gas temperatures.
In the schematics I have before me, the paths within ECUs are not shown. I therefore cannot understand how and where the temperature measurement affects.
Since my V8 did not pass the AU, I have always only gone in the direction of hot, change Lambda probe and if necessary Kat change researched. When it comes to hot driving, there is the problem that you usually have to wait before the test and cool the cats again. I can't get the Lambda probe out. It can be rotated by 1/16th, then it's over. Use raw force? And Kats are expensive, if any.
But if the Lambda probe can be really heated, then a new research field will of course open up!
What are your experiences and knowledge of the heating of the Lambda probe?
Thank you in advance for relevant information.
