We often asked where to polish rims, and because our research produced either "too expensive" or "too far away", we (Maadin and I) tried to dare ourselves on the rims. The result is not yet 100%, but we are not finished either.
In the appendix I have set up a self-polished (finish still missing) and an untreated rim.
Maadin has got an abbeize that cleanly removes the clear varnish at least within minutes, you just have to be careful not to depainted the painted star. After that, friend "Dremel" came into use to remove the kerb damage. Then the grinding starts, only quite rough and then always finer, then Autosol and finally a finish paste. The more finely ground, the better the result.
The costs for this amount to about 20 euros for everything (!!).Of this, however, the Abbeize is easy enough for 8 rims, also the two pastes.
After that you have of course quite sore and dirty fingers, but the effort is worth it.However, you should be careful with the material abrasion, in order not to weaken the rim.
As care afterwards, wax was recommended to me and the rims were cleaned more often than before.
Look at it, I like
