after 3 of the 3 Audi V8 engines I had in the fingers problems with the crankcase ventilation hoses here had the question to all:
Is there a problem with rubber and aging?
So far, everyone was either totally flaked and eaten by INNNEN or the material already feels very timid and you have the feeling you could crush it with your fingers.
With all the other vehicles I know, the rubber will be stone hard because the plasticizers escape, not so with our little favorites here, the whole rubber seems to say goodbye. The two short (1x front 1x hintem at the intake tube) were always extremely short
Unfortunately, a total of 3 temples in a very confusing installation position are affected.
Should only one of them be defective, the engine draws a decent auxiliary air and the Lambda control has no chance to compensate for this yet correctly. And besides, you don't have to wonder about oil loss over engine and transmission.
My recommendation=> Urgently check and possibly. I will definitely get new ones.
