Hello!
Just got the car picture in front of me. At the presentation of the 7er I remember the very low consumption of 10.9l. ValveTronic and 6-speed automatic should make it possible.
Of course, the test cars in the car picture are taken hard every day. There the 7-series with 4.4l engine used a proud 16.4l and the S500 16.0l in the entire test.
(Minimum: 745i: 11,1l - Mercedes: 10,2l / Maximum: 745i: 25,1l -S500: 25,5l)
Mercedes gives three litres more than the BMW (13.4l) in the factory specification and still consumes less in the test!
You can clearly see here that a large 8-cylinder simply takes its toll and even a now 10 years old 4.2l is not worse ordered here. BMW has thus exaggerated the consumption figure by about 5.5l.
Also interesting is the fact that the 7 BMW 26.0s needs 200km/h (Mercedes: 25,3s). Again, the 6-speed automatic doesn't keep what it actually promises.
In this way, we can enjoy the advanced technology of 13 years ago at our 8-cylinders and on the other hand we are angry at the generally far too high consumption of the upper class.
Let's see what the A8 FSI promises -- and holds.
Greetings.
