Starter out or not? FRUST

I once posted in the old forum that I often have to "pre-glow" – i.e. ignition, brake twice (wait for the clack of the selector lever lock), maybe stir around at the switch lever again, and THEN turn the ignition key surprisingly. Often the V8 is so confused by all the actions that it starts normally.

But if he smells the roast and has a shitty day, the starter doesn't move in and turns his laps alone without a flywheel. And that's three to four attempts, then you can. And the colder it gets, the more his shit days are piling up. Yesterday, in the torrential rain, the nice man by the car next to me wanted to wait until I got out of the parking lot to get his door open better. After 5 futile attempts he almost drowned and I was still embarrassed by his old clumsy Mercedes, man.

Does it make sense to expand the starter and overtake it with a magnetic switch at temperatures that are now slowly falling? There's the exhaust in front, isn't there? Or not...?
CAN it not be due to the contacts of the selector lever lock? But then the starter doesn't actually get any power, does it?
