Understanding question: Ruppier Automat, ATF printing

Hey, guys.

I have a strange phenomenon with my V8 with over 370'000km, which I can't quite understand and classify.

And that's when the gear is cold and lukewarm, buttery soft as it should be. When it is warm, it becomes rougher; especially when the reverse is applied, there is a jerk, accompanied by a rather loud "crack", and when driving forward, the insertion of the 2nd is hammered. It's a bit slow when accelerating (especially when accelerating gently), but then it's not (perhaps like 1 out of 5 times). And also from the 3 in the 4s - again with slow acceleration - gives off every now and then a jerk.

The gearbox has already been replaced (had a torque converter that decomposed and filled the whole gearbox with metal fragments :-). Interestingly, exactly the same phenomenon was already present in the previous gearbox! The "new" gearbox should now have a good 200'000km on the hump.

In the above-mentioned rough shifting operations, it feels as if the gearbox is bringing the gear in delayed. Especially with 1->2 you notice that he wants to switch - but it goes long (almost a second or so) until then, with the jerk, the gear is in it. Also on the R it takes a little longer than in the cold condition, until the reverse movement with the "klag" snaps in.

Moreover, during a quick acceleration, the lock of the converter is also quite strained, but I don't think this is connected...

Now I was wondering if the ATF's pressure in the gearbox might be a little too low with "hot" ATF, so that the gears are not switched fast enough and thus not exactly at the right moment. Only: where is ATF printing built? In the converter? In the gearbox (can't I really imagine, because when the vehicle stops in a driving class of the converter on the gearbox side does not turn)? In front of the converter?

To exclude possible sources of error: The whole cooling system has been overhauled (incl. new cooler), and the water temperature is nice constant slightly below 100°C, so I assume that the gear oil also has the right operating temperature. ATF and sieve have been changed regularly, so no contamination should be responsible for this. ATF stand should be OK (was made and tested by my Mech).

Do you have any idea what that should be? I've been guessing for a long time and I've driven tens of thousands of miles already, but I don't think it's great right now and I'd like to find out what the cause is...

Thank you and greetings from Switzerland!

Hallo Arsene !!

Viel Erfolg Gruß G E R D
